Introduction to EU REACH Testing

    REACH is the abbreviation of the European Union Regulations, Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals, and the regulation number is (EC) No 1907/2006. The regulation is a chemical regulatory system established by the European Union and implemented on June 1, 2007.

     The REACH Directive requires that chemicals imported and produced in Europe must pass a comprehensive set of procedures for registration, assessment, authorization and restriction to better and more easily identify the components of the chemical for the purpose of ensuring environmental and human safety. The directive mainly includes several items such as registration, evaluation, authorization, and restriction.

   On July 16, 2019, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) added four substances including 4-tert-butylphenol as the twentieth batch to the list of substances of high concern (SVHC). So far, the EU Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) list has officially increased to 201.

SVHC test introduction

    SVHC: Substance of Very High Concern, a substance of high concern. It is a series of hazardous substances under the REACH regulation. SVHC includes a series of high-hazard substances such as carcinogenicity, distortion, reproductive toxicity and bioaccumulation.

     The purpose of the item SVHC test is to clarify whether the single SVHC quality/item quality in the item exceeds 0.1%, and then pass the SVHC information in the item to the recipient/consumer. step:

     1) List the BOM of the item (bill of materials)

     2) Know the SVHC content of each material

     3) Accumulate the same SVHC in different materials

     4) SVHC quality / item quality

     5) Give the assessment conclusion (preferably with an evaluation report)
